Blog 2: Topic Proposal

I have decided to write about a community that I just recently joined here at the University of Kentucky, Kappa Alpha Theta. I anticipate all of the lifelong friendships that are in the making, the sense of togetherness and family, and all of the activities and memories that are in the future. Those things to me are what makes a community. I believe that a community is a place you call your home away from home and you are accepted as you are. Theta has been exactly that for me as I have experienced the genuineness, humor, and acceptance with my new sisters. This explains why I chose this topic; it is a community that I am going to be apart of for not only the next four years, but for life. I have become familiar with my new sisters and the main goals of the sorority as a whole. I have seen glimpses of how much they impact the bigger community around us and I am so blessed to get to be involved with it. I am excited to dive in deeper and see firsthand what it truly means to be a theta. Kappa Alpha Theta is not something you become a part of. It becomes a part of you.
