This picture is on Bid Day, when I joined Kappa Alpha Theta. This was the start of welcoming my pledge class into the sorority; 90 girls from all over the U.S. It sounds cheesy, but instantly there is a bond with your new sisters that is like no other. You go from knowing hardly anyone to becoming so close with girls who are now your sisters, to find your best friends, support system, and bridesmaids. There is always someone, you are never alone. There has already been many instances to show that theta sisters are always there to help, talk, cry, and laugh. This day contains every emotion; one of the best days of our lives. Even so shortly after, it brings smiles upon us to relive that moment of overwhelming joy. Becoming a part of the Kappa Alpha Theta community has made a home for so many of us. A huge issue for children today is the feeling of rejection or not fitting in. The diversity of this group of girls ranges and together we are all a family. The feeling of acceptance and belonging was a reassurance that I wanted to make Theta my home.

Blog 2: Topic Proposal
I have decided to write about a community that I just recently joined here at the University of Kentucky, Kappa Alpha Theta. I anticipate all of the lifelong friendships that are in the making, the sense of togetherness and family, and all of the activities and memories that are in the future. Those things to me are what makes a community. I believe that a community is a place you call your home away from home and you are accepted as you are. Theta has been exactly that for me as I have experienced the genuineness, humor, and acceptance with my new sisters. This explains why I chose this topic; it is a community that I am going to be apart of for not only the next four years, but for life. I have become familiar with my new sisters and the main goals of the sorority as a whole. I have seen glimpses of how much they impact the bigger community around us and I am so blessed to get to be involved with it. I am excited to dive in deeper and see firsthand what it truly means to be a theta. Kappa Alpha Theta is not something you become a part of. It becomes a part of you.

Blog 1: Introduction
My name is Olivia Giese and I am from Georgetown, Kentucky. I plan to graduate with bachelors degree in Architecture and a minor in Spanish. I plan to continue on to an architecture masters program. I am a very passionate and driven person. I contain a very creative and artistic mindset as well as a very outgoing and positive personality. I enjoy drawing/crafts, playing sports, hanging out with my friends, and traveling. I was very involved in high school and am planning on continuing that in college. I have become a new member of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Kentucky and will be very involved in that as well as in the College of Design and CSF. The biggest community I belong to would probably be the church. There are many people there that care about each other and it is a second family. You can come as you are, its real and generally when you leave you feel revived and refreshed. You feel like weight has been lifted off your shoulders and it is a big reminder for me to look at the big picture and what life is really about. The people help you focus on the truth and not the distractions of the world. It is also easy to get involved using your interests or talents to reach the local community and ones worldwide. I have been on multiple mission trips and it grows you spiritually and opens your eyes to see all there is outside of our comfort zones and how much we have to learn.
